Rare Disease App Design

Cystinosis & Me is a patient support app developed by Recordati Rare Diseases to help individuals living with cystinosis manage their treatment plans and daily health routines. The aim was to create a tool that could support patients in staying on top of their medication, appointments, and emotional well-being. The brief was to design the visual interface of the app and collaborate with developers to ensure the experience was both functional and user-centred.

I designed the full app interface with a focus on clarity, accessibility, and ease of use for patients managing a complex rare disease. Working closely with external developers, I helped implement key functionality, including patient reporting features and interactive scheduling tools that allowed users to log their medications and receive timely reminders. I also designed features for tracking upcoming healthcare appointments with automated alerts, as well as a measurement tracking system where users could record pain levels, mental health, and emotional states through visual indicators and word-based selections. Finally, I developed a reporting system that compiled all user-entered data into clear, shareable summaries for healthcare professionals.
